Behavioral Science is an umbrella term for systemic and scientific approaches that explore the principles and rules of human behaviors. It includes a wide array of disciplines including, but not limited to, psychology, sociology, anthropology, physiology, psychophysiology, political science, and economy. These disciplines collaborate with each other to predict and resolve problems of individuals and social groups. Our center provides clinical services informed by up-to-date behavioral scientific research.
In addressing clients issues and improving their quality of life, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on clients present concerns rather than their past. Like in a cogwheel, human thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are intertwined, and influence each other. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy explores clients thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are associated with their present issues. Clients will be assisted to gain more awareness of their thought patterns and its impacts on their emotions and behaviors. With an increased self-awareness, they will obtain opportunities to accept their current patterns and/or create a different pattern.
American Psychological Association(APA) lists Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as evidence-based treatment for various psychological conditions including Depression, Anxiety(Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia), and Eating Disorder.
